Senior Systems Administrator
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior IT Systems Administrator with a specialization in Identity and Access Management to join our fast-growing global software company. As a key member of our IT operations team, you will be working with security compliance of our IT systems of industry standards, while also driving continuous improvement in security, privacy, and quality assurance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, remote environment with a strong focus on system integrations, automation, and process management.
Location We are flexible on remote working from home, if you are located in the USA and reside in one of the following states - CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, *IL, KS, ME, MA, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX and VA. We have physical offices in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL, if you prefer a hybrid option.
What You’ll Be Doing
Systems and Infrastructure Management:
Manage and support the integration of key applications (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft 365, Slack, Salesforce, and other SaaS tools) into our Okta system.
Ensure Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and user provisioning/deprovisioning are properly set up and maintained for integrated applications.
Manage complex Okta configurations, including lifecycle management and security protocols.
Administer and maintain access integrations for infrastructure, networks, servers, and virtual environments (AWS, Azure, or on-prem solutions).
Integrate third-party applications with Okta for both user management and security purposes.
Implement and manage role-based access control (RBAC) and least privilege access across applications, demonstrating a strong understanding of IAM security concepts.
Compliance and Security:
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with privacy protection laws, security standards, quality assurance guidelines, and ethical considerations.
Thoroughly understand auditing requirements and facilitate the audit process and procedures with internal departments.
Review and adhere to compliance-related policies and procedures to ensure accurate IT reporting capabilities.
Ensure uptime and optimize performance across platforms.
Strong understanding of security protocols like OAuth, SAML, OpenID, etc
Automation and Workflow Development:
Develop and implement automation scripts for repetitive tasks using programming languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Automate user onboarding/offboarding, provisioning, software deployment, and regular maintenance tasks.
Build and document workflows to enhance the efficiency of daily operations and helpdesk processes.
Knowledge of RESTful APIs for application integrations.
Other duties as needed.
About You
5+ years of experience as a systems administrator or in a similar role with a focus on compliance, security, and system integrations.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
Industry certifications like Okta Certified Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Security+, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator would be a plus.
Identity and Access Management: In-depth knowledge of Okta, including lifecycle management, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), and integrating with SaaS applications (Zoom, Slack, Office 365, Salesforce).
Programming and Scripting: Experience writing automation scripts in languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate IT tasks and workflows.
Certifications: Industry certifications like Okta Certified Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Security+, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
Compliance Knowledge: Experience with SOC2, ISO27001, FedRAMP, and/or SOX.

*Due to operational policies, NinjaOne is unable to hire for this role within the city limits of Chicago. We will consider all qualified candidates who reside outside of the city proper or are willing to self-relocate.
Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage and PTO. For roles based in California or Colorado, the base salary hiring range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000 per year.
For roles based in New York, the base salary hiring range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000 per year.
