About the Role
We are looking for a Technical QA Engineer with an IT skill-set to join our QA team. The position involves testing and quality control of the platform that was built to help IT and MSP teams efficiently manage, patch and support all endpoints. Our team is steadily growing and we are seeking a specialist who can work and control the quality of remote access applications and monitoring systems for hardware and computer networks. This full-time position involves a wide IT knowledge base but it is not necessary to possess it at the expert level since we already have a close-knit team that is ready to help at any time.
Location - We are flexible on remote working from home, if you are located in the USA and in one of the following states - TX, FL, CA, NC, GA, CT, ME, KS, CO, NJ or VA. We have physical offices in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL, if you prefer a hybrid option.
What You’ll be Doing
IT Expertise: Dive deep into our suite of products and emerge as an in-house expert on IT software solutions
Testing & Troubleshooting: Undertake comprehensive software testing, spotting inconsistencies and conducting troubleshooting to guarantee impeccable feature releases
Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on the quality and functionality of software applications after thorough testing
Continuous Improvement: Proactively suggest enhancements to current testing methodologies, tools and processes and continually refine our QA practices
Collaboration: Actively collaborate with product managers, developers and other stakeholders throughout the software development life cycle, ensuring that quality standards are met at each stage.
About You
Operating System experience (Windows/ Mac/ Linux) must have experience with two out of 3 listed
Experience with virtualization - any 'Type' hypervisors (VMWare Workstation, VMWare Fusion, VirtualBox, Parallels)
Ability to collect and analyze information from log files
Active Directory understanding and working experience
Ability to use cmd/ PowerShell – deploy package filling customer filled
Experience with SQL
Experience with computer networks and network equipment (setup and management)
Understanding of network hardware
TCP/IP protocol understanding (especially SNMP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, DNS)
Experience of using Postman (or any other API platforms)
Experience with remote control tools (TeamViewer, Splashtop, AnyDesk, ConnectWise)
Basic knowledge of OSI layers
OS Windows and Mac at administrator level (optional)
Win Servers and any Linux distributions (optional)
Configuration and working with network equipment, including Cisco, Juniper, HP and others (optional)
Type 1 hypervisors (ESXi) (optional)
